5 pounds gone and 5 inches gone in just 30 days!  Yahoo!

I still have a ways to go – I’d like to be around 130, which is the high range for my height.  Why couldn’t I be just a few inches taller?! 😀  More good news is that at 167 pounds, my BMI was 30.5 which was in the “obese” category.  At 162 my BMI brings it down to 29.6 which is now the “overweight” category.   Nice!  I never thought I would be happy to be in the overweight category, but today I am!

So in honor of Jillian kicking my butt, today’s giveaway is her 50 minute DVD – yes, it’s 50 minutes long, but that includes the 5 minute warm-up and the 5 minute cool-down.   All you need to do is leave me a comment about how you feel about exercise?  Do you love it?  Hate it? Do it because you have to?  I have to tell you that there were a couple days where I flat out didn’t want to do it – but the thought of not getting a sticker on my calendar pushed me through!  And never once did I regret working out when I was done. 😀  One entry for leaving a comment and two extra entries if you link back from your blog.  I’ll pick a winner on Monday, May 4th at noon.  Good luck!

She's gonna kick your a$$!!

She's gonna kick your a$$!!

Oops!  I also forgot to add two items to giveaway that were donated by my co-worker/friend Cassie! A citrus zester and a cloth bag that is supposed to make the best microwave baked potatoes.  Thanks Cassie!

I am also starting her meal plan for breakfasts and lunches to get myself out of the ruts that I sometimes can get in – but I’ll still have my beloved baby spinach (and Tabasco!)!

Time to get ready for work, see you later!  Happy Friday!!

  1. YEAH BIZ!!!!!!!!!!! GREAT JOB!!!!

Now I have to do that!!!

  2. I have been so inspired by your 30 Day Challenge. I am also considered obese and I have the DVD and haven’t been doing it. I’m going to do your 30 day challenge in the month of May!! I would love to win this DVD to supplement:)

  3. congratulations on your 30 day shred progress!!! 😀
I love exercising because it makes me feel strong, positive and simply great!

  4. Congrats on your success! Those are great stats.

  5. I am kind of in a love-hate relationship with exercise. I was morbidly obese for most of my life and a couple of years ago, I lost 100 pounds basically by just changing my diet. My life is so hectic right now, that exercise often gets put on the back burner, but I never regret it when I’m able to fit it in. I think a good DVD might be what I need to kick start things. Thanks!

  6. Congratulations, that’s wonderful!

  7. That is awesome progress Biz!

  8. Awesome stats! Congratulations. I also have a love/hate relationship with exercise. Today (5/1) is my 3 month gym anniversary. I am learning to love it…

  9. Fantastic job – what a great change in just 30 days!!! I am very impressed that you stuck with the shred for the entire time!

I just wanted to congratulate you on your stats; don’t enter me in the drawing because I know I wouldn’t do her DVD at home – my gym workouts kill me enough as is!

  10. Sweet and Fit

congrats on the weight loss! thats incredible progress in just 30 days!!

I have a love-hate relationship with exercise, sometimes i love how great I feel afterwards and the energy I get, then other times I hate it and try to avoid it!

  11. 30 days and AMAZING RESULTS!!!

I work out because I have to NOT BECAUSE I love to. BUT…I stay motivated because I remind myself if I ever stop working out and eating healthy, then I become fat again. That’s my motivation!

    Have a great weekend!

  12. Holy SMOKES! 6% Body fat drop?!?! 2 INCHES on your hips!? What more could a girl ask for?! And in just 30 days- I’m impressed! Great job hanging in there!!

Exercise to me seems like a chore. I never had to b/c I was an AVID ballet dancer and that was just incorporated into my life. Since I quit, my body type changed, but I’ve never seen myself as “overweight.” The past two years especially I’m not happy about my weight, but it is BEYOND hard for me to stick to a work-out plan that would get this weight down.

  13. Wow, awesome job! I love exercise when Jillian is kicking my butt. It’s fun 🙂 Never used to think like this though!

  14. Woo hoo!!! Way to go, Biz! That’s awesome progress.

I used to like activity, like walking or riding a bike, but I hated the idea of regular, planned, get-all-sweaty exercise. So at first, it was exercising because I had to do so…but then I gradually grew to like it. At first, it was more how it made me feel afterward, but now I usually like it during a workout, too. I still have plenty of days, like today, where I don’t look forward to working out *at all*. (Probably because it’s spin class, and that kicks my posterior.) I know I’ll feel bummed if I don’t do it, though, and great if I do, so I’ll be there. (Your post inspired me, too.)

p.s. Please don’t enter me in the drawing. I usually use DVDs on the days when I need a 30-minutes-or-less workout…I know I wouldn’t use a whole 50 minute one.

  15. wow! you should be so proud of yourself!!! that’s so awesome, what fantastic results!

  16. Congrats on your 30 day shred challenge, and getting all those stickers on your calendar. Looks like it paid off for you as well 😀

And of course I enjoy exercise, as long as it’s what I feel like doing that day. If I’m not feeling the gym, I’ll go for a walk or bike ride or do some pilates. If I’m feeling weights, then I do it.

  17. You are so inspiring, and I would love to follow your lead via the dvd! Thanks for the giveaway!

  18. i LOVE working out!! its a recent love, but i hope it keeps up! congrats on your progress! thanks for the giveaway!!

  19. great job with your shredding. I wasn’t a fan of it ’cause I get all my cardio from my running but I LOVED her No More Trouble Zones video, I never purchase workout dvds but I did buy that one and I can’t wait for it to come in the mail.

Running is my favorite, then weight lifting then spinning

  20. That is freaking awesome. I looked back at your various ‘eats’ over the month, and you ate healthy, delicious food and did not starve yourself or deny yourself, and you still toned up and lost weight! That’s exactly the way it’s supposed to be!
That is why I love to exercise…so I don’t have to worry so much about what I eat

  21. congrats on the shredding results – that is great!

i’ll try to remember to post a link for the contest tomorrow 🙂

  22. Your shredding results are IMPRESSIVE. I wish I could SHRED like that too.

  24. 5 inches?! AWESOME 🙂 keep rockin it!

  25. Congrats on your progress. I sure don’t like the thought of exercise, but I always feel better when I do it. I also know that without it, long term weight loss success is hard.

  30. Congratulations! That sounds likely a superbly successful month!! Very impressive changes in such a short time… you go girl!!

  31. Hey sweetie!

This result is awesome. I actually just ordered the shred for my birthday gift to self. 😛

Any tips before I get started? Was there any equipment needed?

I’ve been a ballet dancer since age 3 so I view exercise as an extension of my training. I love ballet and crosstraining is a must that I rarely have to drag myself through. It’s all about thinking like an athlete!

    With Love,

    Emily

  32. Ahh, count me in! I love Jillian! 🙂

  33. This is fantastic! I’ve been so afraid of Jillian but your results are inspiring. Congrats to you!

  34. MOTIVATION – that’s what I need. Congratulations on your stats and I would love the DVD.

  35. I love exercising once I get going, but I’m partial to running since I can clear my mind, I could use some strength training to tone. Congrats on your progress!

  36. I have been doing the 30 day shred for about 2 monyhs and love it. Its hard but I do see a difference.
