Happy Anniversary Tony!

Yep, today marks our 11 year anniversary!  It’s hard to believe I’ve spent 1/4 of my life with Tony!  We’ve had our ups and downs, medical scares, unemployment, etc., but we have survived it all and have lived to celebrate another year together.

We have a doctor appointment this morning, so this is going to be quick, so quick I stole the pictures from last years post, but maybe there are some new readers who haven’t seen them yet.

We got married on a beach in Naples, Florida – near where Tony’s parents lived.  The only people in attendance was my Mom, Tony’s parents and our kids were the best man and maid of honor.  It was perfect!

My dress cost $19 at Filene’s basement – it was obviousy winter in Chicago so it was a summer dress that was marked down 90%.

This picture was from a trip we made to Florida – we were at a winery that made the worst wine we’ve ever tasted – um, should have read the pamphlet  – it was all moscoto wine – super sweet!

And we are still as goofy as the day we met 😀

We had decided to have our anniversary dinner at Ruth’s Chris, but obviously we’ll have to take a raincheck on that – I don’t think Tony can go from eating bananas and applesauce to a 28 ounce ribeye!

So why not have a giveaway to celebrate?!  The find folks at Choboni want you to enjoy a giant 3-pack of yogurt – check it out:

These are three, 32 ounce containers!  It’s funny, because as I was taking them out of the box, I saw this and thought they sent me cornbread flavored yogurt!  Um, turns out it was just a recipe for cornbread!

THREE lucky winners will receive a case of yogurt, one of each 32 oz container.
For a chance to win, simply leave a comment here and tell me how many years you’ve been married, or if you aren’t married, where you would like to go on your honeymoon.  If you tweet the giveaway, leave a second comment for two tries to win.
Giveaway ends Saturday, December 24h.  Winners will be chosen by random.org. Good luck!!

Make it a great day!

‘Anything less than mad, passionate, extraordinary love is a waste of time. There are too many mediocre things in life to deal with an love shouldn’t be one of them.’. When people I know are having difficult times I. There relationships, I feel so blessed to be able to know that we still not only live each other, we like each other too.
    Enjoy your very special day!!

  32. Happy Anniversary Biz! What a great giveaway – I love that yogurt!

I have been married for 32 years! I can hardly believe it’s been that long. We got married young but we waited 6 years before we started our family. It gave us time to grow up more which was good. I would do it all over again!

  33. Happy anniversary to you and Tony! Today is our wedding anniversary as well.

    Best,
    Bonnie

  36. Well, what a coinkidink, we’ve been married 11 years too! 🙂 We beat you by only six months. It would be lovely to get married in a warm coastal spot in the middle of winter! Very nice. Happy anniversary to you both, you are an inspiration to all couples!

  37. I’m not married( only because same sex marriage isnt legal in Cali yet). I’ve been with my partner for almost 2yrs. But, we met 18yrs ago and I was with someone else. She and I had an affair and I had to chose and I chose to stay with my GF at the time. Then, 11 years ago, it happened again. This time, she was with someone and her life was complicated. Then, 2yrs ago, we met again( thanks facebook) and here we are. It took us 17yrs to be together, but the 3rd time is the charm.

  38. Happy anniversary to both of you! You two are so cute!

Andy and I have been married two years now. Three years in July! 🙂

  39. I have been engaged for 6 months and will be married next October

  45. I met my husband in Aug 91, and have been married since June ’92. And we’ve been in high gear since…very little down time. 20 years coming up in 2012. WHOA! Seems like yesterday!

  46. If money were no object, I’d love to go on a tour of Europe for my honeymoon someday.

  47. Gosh, Biz, Happy, happy anniversary! I’m glad I checked in on your blog so I could catch up with you. I’ve been married for 12, soon to be 13 years, but the anniversary of our first date will be 26 years ago on Christmas day–whew.

Anyhow, I love this yogurt. My favorite way to eat it is either the vanilla or plain with chopped dry roasted, unsalted pistachios and a drizzle of dark honey–yum.

By the way, my new blog will be up and running soon!

  48. 2.5 years of being a military wife 🙂

  49. Happy anniversary to you and Tony! Love those photos!
We are not far behind you, it will be 11 years in April. But the 20th anniversary of when we met is coming up in January – I can’t believe it’s been that long. I didn’t want to get remarried until my kids were older so we waited. And, we didn’t live together! We each had separate houses (and sometimes I wish we still did, ha). When we got married, we each sold our houses and bought one together. It was a good decision. Merry Christmas to you and yours

  50. Happy Anniversary, Beautiful pictures. You both are so cute and look so happy! I have been married for 15 years and we went to Mexico for our Honeymoon. Ruth Chris is soooooooo good, hope you make it there soon. I actually love cornbread so much that cornbread yogurt sounds good to me.

  51. Cute! Cute! Cute! Love the pics and congratulations. I’m not married but have the honeymoon planned (for the lucky fella) in huts on a resort island in Tahiti. Thx for the giveaway.

  52. Hello! I found your blog this morning by doing a search on “diabetic food blog” and yours was the first result I got! I am excited to have found your blog and look forward to reading it. My husband was just diagnosed with diabetes a couple of weeks ago – right before we were to go on a Caribbean cruise (real bummer since that meant we weren’t going to be eating and drinking as freely was we thought!). I have a lot to learn because I am the one who feeds him. I’ve never really had to deal with anything like this so I’m on the look out to learn what I can and make my honey some tasty foods that will not put a damper on having the “d” word.

  53. Roz@weightingfor50

  59. Happy Anniversary Biz and Tony!
I would love to have a beach wedding in playa del carmen, mexico.
I used to go there with my dad (just me and him, it was our little father daughter annual getaway!) and always told my dad it was the most beautiful place in the world, and that I would get married there.
Now, I feel like it wouldn’t be right to go anywhere else for the wedding or honeymoon! Hopefully I find a job in the near, near future ha!
