Love this Weather!

It so feels like summer and its not even Easter yet!  For breakfast I broke my parfait run and had a potato, spinach hash with toast and sliced apples.  Breakfast comes in at 9 points.

When it was time for my run, I checked and it said “feels like 77 degrees.”  What??!!  I have to tell you though, after my 8 mile bike ride the day before, my thighs felt like tree trunks and it was hard to run – with that and the fact that I wasn’t used to running in heat, it was a slow run/walk – but I moved!  My 5k came in at 38:25.

Lunch was leftovers, or my assilicious food.  (Thanks Aimee for that word!).  A serving of my cauliflower mac n cheese, 2 ounces of leftover steak and a whole can of green beans with szchewan seasoning.  This plate comes in at 9 points.

Doesn’t everyone eat a whole can of green beans for lunch? 😀

Work was super busy, so the day went by pretty fast.  Next thing I knew it was yappy hour at my friends house.  Although I didn’t do the asshole move I did last time, and had Hannah drop me off and pick me up.  I still stayed out later than I should have – I was home by 10:30, but I told Tony I’d be home between 8:30 and 9:00.  I feel guilty going out at all since he’s at home by himself all day, but I need to get out once in a while.  She has the cutest dog, he’s old like our dog:

And she had lots of cheese (!) and crackers and some artichoke stuffed wontons.  So good!  With the wine and cheese I am calling “dinner” 20 points to be on the safe side.  I do love my cheese!

Question of the Day:  How often do you have a girls night out??

Thanks to Erica from Itzy’s Kitchen for fowarding me this article on the benefits of doing strength training BEFORE cardio to not have a drop in blood sugar while exercising – very interesting!  Thanks Erica!

We have another warm day on tap – I think I am just going to speed walk today to give my legs a break!  Make it a great day!

  1. Taking time for yourself is a good thing. It gives you energy! Hope you have a great day!

  2. I call plates like that- mish mosh meals 🙂 They’re my favorite. Grapes are total kryptonite for me. I can’t stop eating them! Thanks for the shout out. Glad you appreciated the article

  3. I don’t have girls nights out often enough. Everyone is just too busy all the time it seems hard to get schedules together. I love them though!

It’s getting cool here, just in time for the weekend of course. Boo.

  4. I had a girl’s night on Tuesday night – we made crab rangoon wonton cups and salad from a bag (running joke between us), wine and watched our favorite girl’s night movie – Circle of Friends!

    • Um, I’ll need the recipe for the crab rangoon in wonton cups please! 😀

      • So easy – just make wonton cups in a mini muffin pan (I baked them at 350 for a few minutes just to start them off) and the mixture is one block cream cheese and one can crab meat (I use three diamond – the cheap stuff!). Just put scoops of filling into the cups and bake another 10-15 minutes until they start to brown!

  5. My friend’s and I have try to have a girls night at least once a month. We haven’t had one in awhile, but today we’re getting manicures and pedicures together. Pretty excited about that.

Also, I totally eat a whole can of green beans…it’s the one vegetable that I prefer the canned version to frozen.

  6. I’ve totally eaten a whole can of green beans for lunch!

  7. That’s a great time for a run/walk 5k Biz! Enjoy the nice weather!

  8. I only have girls night every few months, but would love to do it more! It’s just hard with a job, husband and two little ones:)

  9. I am loving this weather we are having, so nice to be able to leave in flip flops…and no coats!! Definitely thinking of starting mid-day walks with my little side kick again.
Girls night for me is about once a month.

  10. I call those meals tasting plates – and they sure can satisfy when you just feel like putting your hand to your mouth a lot.

I get together with my mom once a week, which we call mother/daughter night. 😀 Other girls stuff is catch as catch can.

  11. I have GNOs pretty often – at least once a week. Obviously there is no wine involved as it’s usually with AA women! But we laugh our asses off always

I’m loving the weather too – crazy as it is! Our trees will be done blooming before they would have even budded any other year. The warmth and light are helping me feel motivated to get out and sweat, which is great. And that is a pretty good time for a “slow” walk/run!

  12. I can totally relate to the tree trunk legs lately. I love girls’ nights out but sadly I don’t get too many nights out unless you count going to work with the girls all night! My friends are scattered around so it’s difficult to get together, but when we do it’s a lot of fun.

I hate to sound like my grandmother with all this weather talk, but I looked at the 10 forecast earlier and it’s one sunny day after another coming up with temps in the 70s!! Love it!

  13. Same temps here in MI and I’m loving it. Wondering if I’ll get to open the pool early, I hope so! Girl’s night out, not often enough. Someone’s always busy, no one to watch my dog, etc.

  14. I love cheese and crackers too! Pair it with wine and I could eat it for dinner. I don’t get girls night’s often enough. I feel like once a month would be perfect for me.

  15. I used to eat a whole can of green beans at lunch ALL THE TIME. I had a stash of cans in my desk drawer – it was quite comical. 🙂

  16. I was just thinking, I can’t even remember the last time I had canned green beans. We ate them all the time growing up.

We try to do a ‘chick trivia’ night about once a month where we go and do bar trivia, but that is about it.

    Enjoy your weather!

  17. isn’t the weather the best! it seriously does something for the soul!

i love the cheese plate and the girl’s night sounds so fun! i just had one at Cheesecake Factory the other night, buffalo blasts baby!

  18. Don’t have a girls night out often enough, but I do have one on Saturday! Yay!

What are those little wonton cup things in the last picture?

    • That was artichoke dip that was then put into prepared wonton cups and then put under the broiler – so fricken good! I’ll see if she’ll give me the recipe for the dip. 😀

  19. My girls’ night out consists of my daughters & me. We let Pooldad be an honorary member for the night. 🙂 Seriously tho’ I don’t drink and my friends are spread far & wide so I have no idea when this would happen. I don’t miss it tho’. I like mine just fine.

Glad you had such a good time. You can just send those yummy lil’ artichoke thingies right along to VA tyvm. Gosh those look so good. Want!

And good for you for having your own personal driver. Smart!

  20. I know, it has been so warm! For Kansas, our winter was extremely mild which usually means it’s going to hit late (we’ve had blizzards in April before) but I’m really starting to wonder if we got out easy this year. Probably means a scorcher of a summer, though. I think it’s good that you had a girl’s night out, don’t do the guilt trip thing! Love that doggie-old big doggies are the BEST!!!!!!!!! ! ! annnnnd !!! 🙂 I love dogs, can you tell? 🙂

  21. Must remember not to use smilies in comments on your blog! They always end up in the wrong places, making me look even more spaztastic than I am-lol!

  22. Sorry, I have one more thing: I TOTALLY EAT A CAN OF GREEN BEANS EVERY DAY FOR LUNCH!!! My co-workers make fun of me for it-lol! High five for the whole can of green beans club! 🙂

  23. I used a smiley again!! ARRRG! lol
