Quickest Post Ever

It’s storming.  Again.  This rain is getting old and depressing.  Yesterday we even had hail!

It’s not safe to have our computer on while its storming, so I’ll have to post the recipe for my homemade pasta over the weekend.

  1. We are anticipating another snow storm here! It’s my boss’s birthday and I told him that I was able to make some snow happen for him! I want this recipe — >> Chicken stirfry with broccoli slaw, zucchini and tangerines.

Also, my husband so wants to do homemade pasta. I’ve been so nervous to try it out, but you make it look so easy, I’d love to see a post on it!

    • Thanks Carrie – I’ll try to post the pasta recipe on Saturday – super easy, even for a week night! And I hate to say it, I have no recipe for the stir fry: 4 ounces of chicken, 2 cups broccoli slaw, 1 sliced zucchini and 1 tablespoon of House of Tsang Peanut sauce.

I had a tangerine on the side for “dessert” but decided to add it at the last minute to my stir-fry – loved the sweetness with the spicy chicken!

  2. Yuck – I hope the weather gets nicer soon! Hail is ridiculous! I LOVE homemade pasta – it’s the best!

  3. I’ll take that meat off your hands 🙂 Claire’s school is closed due to the rain! Drive safe to work! How did the pasta taste?

    • Ha – I bet you would! Do you check the 50% off bin at Dominicks? The pasta was good, although I would have preferred a not so thick noodle, but that didn’t stop me from cleaning my plate!

  4. It’s definitely sunny and warm here with highs in the 80s today. Sure wish I had to turn off my computer for a big rain storm; that would make for a really nice day. Enjoy your day.

Good going with getting your Run for Boston in! 🙂

Hail?? Crazy. We’re supposed to be in line for thunderstorms today, so who knows…we may see hail too. And we just planted flowers – I hope they don’t get shredded!

  6. We are getting rain from the same system this morning.

  7. That is some serious hail! Ok you are such an overachiever, home made pasta?! How yummy, I’ve got to try that asap. And I always forget how handy and delicious broccoli slaw is, I love that stuff.

  8. Ick- hail? Crazy town. I’m excited to hear more about the pasta. The tangerines in the stir fry is a fantastic idea

  9. It sounds like you are getting pounded. A few minutes ago, the news said the Stephenson is the only express way open. We’ve had a lot of rain but not as much as you. Keep dry and safe!!

  10. Wow. I wish I could send you some of our warmth and sunshine! It has been around 80 and sunny the past couple of days! Storms moving in tonight I think…of course, the tree pollen has been off the hook!

  11. On my way to work this a.m. they said Chicago freeways are flooded and for people to stay home. Hope you’re home and enjoying a day off! It’s like a spring “snowday”.

  12. Your lunch looks delicious!! I’m such a sucker for colorful veggie bowls. 🙂 Oh, and I thought the link to veggie dressing you shared with me looked really interesting! Thanks. I’m going to check it out more thoroughly when I have some extra time in the coming weeks.

Yeah–the rain–brutal. Sorry to hear about your basement. Good luck. I was busy cleaning up dog poo at 4:30 am because apparently Shazam is not a fan of the thunder/lightning and didn’t want to go outside. Lovely.

  13. Of course it’s snowing here since last night. Nothing huge but enough it’s another few inches. At least the roads are finally warm enough it doesn’t stick and make slippery. The bus isn’t impressed with slippery (me either).
I made noodles the other day for the first time and rolled them out and cut them up. I didn’t know you could sorta folded them and cut them. They don’t stick? I know nothing about that so am learning.
Thanks for stopping by Biz. I read you every day but don’t get to comment much. Take care Biz and have an awesome afternoon.

    • Thanks Julie!! Nope, they didn’t stick at all, just unraveled them – it probably would be even easier to slice the noodles if the dough was chilled about 15 minutes.

  14. That pasta does sound good. Be safe!

  15. I’ve always wanted to make homemade pasta…is it worth it? And we’re getting hail and rain again today! GRRRRR

  16. Crazy you’re still having hail and snow! I remember two winters ago when I still had snow in JUNE! Mother nature is pissed from what I can see! Hahaha!

  17. My mom lives in Nebraska and I talked to her this morning and it’s snowing there! It’s the longest winter ever! I hope sunshine and warm temps head your way real soon Biz!

  18. That’s some big hail! It’s back to just gray and rainy here. Yuck! Ah well, I just stay in like a hermit and cook! I would like to see some sunshine sometime though. Maybe in July 😉

  19. It’s horrible. I have a legitimate swamp in my yard. I’m not supposed to have a swamp in my yard.

Your pasta looks lovely 🙂 I need to get over my fear of making it from scratch! You made it look easy peasy.

    • Everything you do is from scratch Courtney – you can do it! 😀 We had six inches of water throughout out whole basement this morning – not a way to start my day!

  20. For just a moment, before I read the first sentence and was staring at the first pic, I though you were holding a handful of diced onion! I was like, where is Biz and what have you done with her?! LOL! Love the “run for Boston” motivation on your treadmill. And your meat steal, and your pasta. And you.

  21. The pasta looks delicious. We had a workshop last year in Italy and it’s so easy to make, yet I still haven’t made it at home.

  22. Hope you get better weather soon! Love that homemade pasta, looks delicious!

  23. Aw, I thought you were going to write about how you turned that hail into an amazeballs, high protein smoothie or something.

  24. My friend who lives in Chicago had a very flooded basement this week, such a pain in the butt. Sending lots of AZ sunshine and warmth your way!
