Oops!

My alarm went off at 7:00 – I don’t normally need to leave for work until about 8:25, giving me plenty of time to do my blog post, drink some coffee.

We went to bed at 11:00, my alarm went off at 7:00 and I turned it off.  Our bed was so warm, I figured I’d snuggle for a few more minutes with Tony.  Next thing I know, what felt like a few minutes was another HOUR!

But, being the low maintenance person I am, within 20 minutes I had showered, dressed, put my food together, brushed the inch of snow of my car and was at work with 6 minutes to spare.  Nice!

And I also left my camera battery plugged in at home, so I have a camera with no battery – but don’t fear!   You’ll get pictures tonight of our delicious Grilled Greek Chicken and Rosemary Potatoes tonight.

Oh, and my breakfast pizza was accepted on Tastespotting yesterday!  So exciting – they usually say my photography is dull and not sharp! 😀

If push comes to shove, how quick can you get ready for work?

  1. Wow, getting ready in 20 minutes – impressive! I had a hard time getting out of bed myself this morning. It feels so nice to stay under the covers especially when it’s so cold. I can remember only one time that I majorly overslept for work. The latest I can arrive at work is 9am (although I typically arrive at 7:30am, so I can leave earlier), it’s 45 minute drive, and I woke up at 8:06! Was out the door in literaly about 7 minutes. Wash face, brush teeth, throw hair in a ponytail, throw on go-to work outfit, and dash out the door. Congrats on the tastespotting. I’ve submitted several things to foodgawker, but my photography is never good enough to them.

  2. I, like you can get ready lickety split if need be! It helps to be organized though so you an do that!

  3. Not in 20 minutes, that’s for sure!

  4. I need at least 30 minutes – and I would look and feel like crap all day…but I would be there, lol!

  5. I can be ready and have in 10 minutes. With the dog and the cat needing to be fed and the dog let outside it is no less than 20 minutes now. I usually only give myself 30 minutes for everything, so animals, dress, breakfast and quick email check and out in 30.

  6. I think once I made it out in 15. But only because I had everything prepacked, had showered the night before, and the husband fixed my coffee! It was like your situation…we turned of the alarm.

  7. If it is just me I think I could shower/blow dry/dress/eat & be out the door in…ummm 25-30 minutes??
Thing is I haven’t had to do that in 6 years without a child or two involved & I think that automatically doubles the amount of time needed. ;0

Okay, your photos – never dull biz dear.
That site..makes me hungry! Must stay away…but can’t stop loooking. Awww food porn, I love/hate you. lol

    Have a great week!
    Lynn

  8. I’m the same as you – I usually shower at night so in the morning Ijust need to brush my teeth, wash my face, and put makeup on.
My old job was ~2 miles from the house and there were times I would get out of bed 10 minutes before I was meant to be at work.
I went to a private high school for a year in HS and there was a girl that lived directly across the street and said from her house she could actually hear the bells. Our school had a “warning” bell that would ring 10 minutes before any actual bell and she said she would always get up at the warning bell and then walk across the street to school! Lucky!

    • Wow! Now that is low maintenance – and reminds me when I was in high school. My sister Jennifer would take 2 hours getting ready for school because her boyfriend would pick us up.

Me? When he pulled in the drive and honked the horn, I would most likely leave the same sweats on, change my shirt, wash my face and be pulling my hair back in a pony tail as I was getting in the car!

  9. Sorry to hear about the morning BUT way to go with 20 minutes! When it comes down to it, I could probably do a half hour?

  10. CONGRATS on tastespotting! I know how long you have wanted that! I can get ready for work in 10 minutes!

  11. Congrats on the tastespotting! I’m scared to submit my photos to them.

As for getting ready, I can do it in 15 minutes usually! dang!

  12. Hi Biz,
Haven’t visited in a while, wanted to say hi!

I did the alarm trick yesterday. Funny how time flies and how sweet the sleep is the closer to the alarm time!

  13. Congrats on the pic! Your food always looks delicious.

I’m horrible about dawdling in the morning, so if I don’t have to wash my hair or pack anything I can be ready in under 20 minutes.
